OpenWebRX is a multi-user software defined radio server application. It is able to operate with many different SDRs (one at a time) and supports multiple simultaneous remote users. OpenWebRx is free and open-source software that has been developed over many years.
The OpenWebRX project is developed and maintained by Jakob Ketterl. It is free and open-source software.
The PARC STEMLab uses a customized version of OpenWebRX called OpenWebRX+ authored by Marat Fayzullin. OpenWebRX+ adds additional functions such as more decoders and some usability enhancements. OpenWebRX+ is also free and open-source software.
One of the main advantages of both OpenWebRX and OpenWebRX+ is that nothing needs to be installed by their users. The client operates entirely in the user's web browser. This actually drove our decision to use OpenWebRX+. Being able to just go to the URL with a web browser without having to install or configure any software opens these assets up to the widest possible audience.
