The STEM Experimentation Lab provides online resources for learning and experimentation that can be used by anyone to further their understanding of the radio frequency spectrum. The lab utilizes the PARC site on Palomar Mountain which provides a vantage point at 6000 feet up on Mount Palomar for accessing a wealth of radio signals.
There are two "benches" that make up the STEMLab, each having a different focus and equipment suite. These are the HF Bench and the Experimentation Bench:
• The HF Bench is designed to provide convenient remote access by users with just their web browsers. No software needs to be procured or installed by users. The HF Bench currently hosts several SDRs, a KiwiSDR v2 and two AirSpy HF Discovery SDRs. The software for each of these provides a large suite of analog and digital mode access in the HF bands.
• The Experimentation Bench is a little different providing SDR application and data access via remote servers. Users can access the bench's SDR data using applications that can receive the server data streams.
ⓘ STEM Experimentation Bench Information
All of the STEMLab's resources are meant to be accessed remotely over the internet, so that users can work with tutorials and demonstrations and conduct hands-on experiments from anywhere.
